Thermal Imaging Inspections with Cavity Critter.
Thermal imaging Inspections
We have invested in this great technology which allows us to inspect your home or commercial building, for all manner of once hidden faults. We have a very high tech machine which almost sees though buildings, kind of like an x-ray
Thermal imaging gives us the ability to scan large areas of walls and ceillings detecting thermal abnormalities. This technology allows us to see water leaks, electrical faults and poor insulation in a non-invasive manner. We film with a normal camera at the same time and then locate the issue on a map of the building.
This technology also has a number of other uses and we are happy to assist you with these for example animal tracking, fire detection, industrial machinery fault detection and lots more.
Please email us with any enquiries and we will be in contact to discuss your job.

Ceiling Water Leak Before Repair
Water Leaks – Ceiling
This how a water leak shows up on the ceiling.
The yellow is a light and to the left in the blue area there was a slow water leak and the water was tracking along the ceiling batten.
Water leak was found and fixed.
Water Leak - Showers
The first image shows a water leak around a shower.
This is the most common cause of damage in a bathroom and is really caused by the poor systems used in New Zealand. This shower has been installed correctly but relies on silicon to make the seal. Silicon has a life in a shower of around five years and then it will fail, letting water past. In this case everything appears fine but a small leak has occurred, the thermal camera can pick up a leak and size.
The 2nd image is of a shower working correctly with no leaks.

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING
I’m not sure where we would be without Cavity Critter!
“We’ve been amazed by the clarity of the photos and video taken by Cavity Critter remote control buggy. The buggy easily transversed the rubble and liquefaction under our house to fully inspect every pile and capture it all on film. The level of damage and repairs required are clear for all to see.”
